About

What is PT-141 – "WEHO" 10mg?

PT-141, also known as bremelanotide, is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide derived from Melanotan II via metabolic processing. It shows higher selectivity for MC3R and MC4R melanocortin receptors and has been extensively studied in central nervous system signaling literature.

Mechanism of Action

Acts primarily on MC4R receptors in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus. Published research characterizes effects on central sexual arousal pathways independent of the vascular mechanism utilized by PDE5 inhibitors.

Discovery & Context

Approved by the FDA under the brand name Vyleesi for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women in 2019. Continues as a research reference in melanocortin-pathway studies.

Research use only. Language such as "may," "appears to," and "has been shown in published studies" is used throughout to reflect the pre-clinical nature of this literature. Not intended for human consumption, diagnosis, or treatment.
Background

Research Context

Published research literature covers the following areas:

  • MC3R / MC4R selective binding
  • Central sexual arousal signaling
  • Hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus research
  • Cyclic peptide metabolite studies

LAR supplies this compound as a reference standard to qualified laboratories. No dosing schedules, administration methods, or human-use guidance is provided or implied.
